Check out Nate on the Running to Disney Podcast

This week Nate appears on another Disney podcast; the Running To Disney podcast. Gordon, the shows host, is starting a new series for his podcast on Disney podcasters who run. I was pleased to be the first guest in this series. We had a very candid conversation about running and disney podcasting. If you have never listened to the show; check it out.

Episode #23 - Special Guests

In this episode Matt and Nate welcomed Margaret Fries of the Walt Disney World Moms Panel to discuss her experiences over the past year as a Disney Mom. Applications for the the 2010 will open on September 10, 2009 at 9AM Eastern Time. You can see the requirements and how you can apply here. Apply early.

Also joining us is Greg McNaughten of the Imagineering My Way podcast for a Park Rangers segment on Disneylands Main Street vehicles. In it we discuss the different vehicles including the Fire Engine, the Omnibus, the Horseless Carriage and the Horsedrawn Streetcar.

- New LED lights have been seen in Tomorrowland. Click here to see the video.
- Future World Breezeways have been freshened up with a new colorful paint scheme.
- The Main Street Bank at Disneyland has new signage for the Disney Gallery.

Episode #22 - FastPass at Walt Disney World

In this episode Matt and Nate explore the FastPass system at Walt Disney World. This was a suggestion from a listener, Chris Mear of New York. Thanks Chris.

- Matt heard a rumor that the Tomorrowland Skyway station will be refurbished and although no one knows what it will be, it would be great to add another eating location.
- On Sept 9th Paradise Bay will begin refilling with water at Disney's California Adventure for the Wonderful World of Color show. The viewing area will open on Dec. 18th for its 2010 opening
- The Orange Stinger will open in April as the Silly Swings
- The next Pirates of the Caribbean movie will begin filming next year.

Fastpass Things to Know
- Fastpass is included in your admission
- You cannot hold more than one FastPass unless one of your time window has begun.

Magic Kingdom attractions with FastPass
- Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
- Mickey's Philharmagic
- Peter Pans Flight
- Big Thunder Mountain
- Splash Mountain
- Space Mountain
- The Jungle Cruise
- Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin.

Nate suggests getting a FastPass at one attraction when the park opens and then immediately going to wait in another line. Also, Nate does not mind waiting without a FastPass in lines that have well themed queue lines.

- Soarin
- Testrack
- Living with the Land
- Mission Space
- Maelstrom
- Honey I Shrunk the Audience

You cannot wait in the Soarin queue and keep your sanity. Nate has experienced times when Testrack has gone down in the middle of the day because of weather and when it reopened later the FastPass machines did not return (even when the machines had not dispensed all of the FastPasses for the day).

Very Good Tip: If TouringPlans crowd calendar has that particular day rated as a 6 or below you should not need a FastPass to anything except Soarin' and Testrack.

Animal Kingdom:
- Expedition Everest
- Kilmanjaro Safari
- Dinosaur
- Primevil Whirl
- Kali River Rapids
- Its Tough to be a Bug

Same tip above regarding TouringPlans applies to Animal Kingdom. Nate really likes the Expedition Everest queue.

Disneys Hollywood Studio:
- Toy Story Midway Mania
- Hollywood Tower of Terror
- Rockin Roller Coaster
- Star Tours
- Voyage of the Little Mermaid
- Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular

You must get a FastPass to Toy Story Midway Mania as soon as you get to the park. Nate likes both the Tower of Terror and Rockin Rollercoaster queue lines. Star Tours could be a good queue if you really like Star Wars.

Nate returns to Micecast.

Nate returns as special guest to the Mice Cast podcast. The Mice Cast crew are all residents of SoCal and so Nate had the opportunity to meet up with them on his latest trip Disneyland where they recorded a live show. Topics include, Disneyland Anniversary celebrations and a Monorail update. WARNING - This show has a fair amount of adult language and is not suitable for all ages. However, they are very knowledgeable on the subject of Disney history.
