Show Notes for Episode 69 - Part of the Action: Disney MGM Studios 89

In this weeks episode of we revisit of the Studios for the second installment of thr Studios 89 Series by looking a couple of original attractions that were unique to the Stuios; Superstar Television an The Monster Sound Show. And, to add to the conversation Matt Hochberg of StudiosCentral.com lends us a hand with the details.  One thing that stands out about the early Disney MGM Studios attractions were that you, the guest, were put into the action; and no attractions did this better than Superstar Television, where you got to go on the other side of the camera to play a role on a TV show, and The Monster Sound Show, where you were tasked with creating the sound alongside a suspense film. Both have been replaced over the years, but their legacy as part of the early days of the Studios has not been forgotten.

And............

Announcing Our New Logo

By: Nate

Yesterday we announced via Facebook and Twitter our new logo for WEDway Radio.  We've been hinting for a while at some changes and we are slowly rolling them out.  Don't worry, we never intended to change the show format, everything we intend on doing is in addition to what we are already doing.

First, we launched our "bonus" show, The Metro Retro Historical Society.  There were a lot of things that we wanted to do but didn't think that they best suited WEDway Radio.  Either they were too short, or might not be more news oriented, and so we decided to launch a bonus show once a month where we could talk about things like our favorite Disney films, news about upcoming events or attractions or really anything that we wanted.  We also specifically put it on wedwayradio.com and not on iTunes for a couple of reasons. First we wanted to reward our listeners with something extra.  Secondly we didnt want to put it out there omn iTunes because it is a little more raw than WEDway Radio (no edits).  Also, we are trying to grow wedwayradio.com.

Now we are launching a new logo. The above version is specific for avatars whch require a boxy look.  However, the full logo is featured below. Why the new logo.  Mainly because we didn't want to run into any future problems because the we didnt own the image that we were using.  We looked at a lot of models before deciding on this one.  It was created by a listener; which is awesome because he gets what the show is all about and I think it really shows in the design he created.

More exciting announcements to come later!

Show Notes for Episode 67 - An Evening with Mickey

In this episode of WEDway Radio we are so proud and excited to present an interview with the fourth voice of Mickey Mouse, Mr. Bret Iwan who gave up some time to talk to us about his time as the 4th voice of Mickey Mouse.

Some of the things we talked about:

  • Projects that Mickey is working on
  • Taking after the passing of Wayne Allwine
  • Carrying on a legacy started by Walt Disney himself

Bret and Tony Anselmo, the voice of Donald, will be appearing in Kansas City on Saturday May 7th to benefit Thank You Walt Disney, an organization dedicated to restoring Walts Laugh-O-Gram Studios.

I hope you enjoy this interview as it was a lot of fun to record and edit.  Enjoy!
